I got this from TVGuide.com's Micheal Auisello, Glen Morgan is leaving Bionic Woman! Auisello thinks it might be due to creative differences. This is bad news guys. I'm worried about BW now.

That is indeed a shame, especially if creative differences were the reason.

IMDB only lists Motgan as a producer for BW, but i was hoping he'd write a few episodes too, that would have been good.

Really disapointed to hear this news, the X-Files-link really lent the show some credibility and prestige with fans. I guess we STILL haven't seen a single episode so to prejudge anything would be premature.

Personally I liked the idea of having someone who I knew from another show onboard, outside of BG, especially someone with Glen's resume.

Variety is reporting that theirs a rumour Bionic might be shutting down production while writers refine the shows direction. They state this might not be a bad thing as Grey's Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters did similar things. I don't know much about the American TV industry, but it doesn't sound good to me.

I like it less and less... Surely with all the buzz and hype NBC have generated they should be pushing forward with the show on-schedule.

How come there are rumblings of 'refining' the shows direction at this late stage? I thought from the Smilovic interview on IGN that they had 'broken the first twelve episodes'?

With Morgan gone, that's the third producer to leave BW before it's even aired. First came Latea Kalogridis. Then Micheal Dinner, who directed the pilot. He reason for leaving was listed as not willing to stay in Vancouver. Now Morgan. All before a single episode has aired.

This show is beginning to look more and more like, what they call in Hollywood, a troubled production.

What's going on? This is really bad PR for both the show and NBC. Really bad PR.

This indeed did happen with Brothers and Sisters, one of my favorite shows, and it is really a good show and does good in the ratings. The second season is starting in a few weeks. This is not unusual and is not a death sentence to a show.

Are they going to get anybody to replace Morgan?

Often changes are made when shows first go into production. It doesn't mean the series is in trouble. I thought the pilot was pretty solid. I think they have a cast and a direction for the series. It just needs a little tweaking here and there. Rushing a TV series into production is the worst mistake one can make.

I just talked to my local tv critic, Ted Cox of the Daily Herald over then phone. I told him about Morgan leaving ( he did not know about it untill I told him). He said NBC's messed up. He thinks Moragn may have left, not because of problems with Eick or Smilovic, but because of network interference. BW was devloped un Kevin Reilly, who was replaced by Ben Silveman last May. Could it be that Silverman does not like the show and is trying to kill it so he can free up timeslots for shows he wants for next year?
Mae Whitman being replaced, Washington, Morgan leaving, does anybody smell a rat at NBC?

As weird as it seems, I'm quite happy at this news. I've thought for some time Silverman wasn't fully behind this project, as I think I mentioned in a previous post. When I heard Glen Morgan left, I feared it was because of differences in direction of the show, which at this late stage was worrying. However if the ratings are good (wishful thinking) then Silverman and Co will quickly get behind the project, NBC seems to have precious few hits, so it can't afford to dump a show which does get good ratings. If the ratings are only so-so, well thats a different story.
