That was a good one. I'm giving it a solid four. Parts of it would get a five such as the fight in the salon. I thought Katee Sackhoff was very good. She was very intimidating and funny and we feel some empathy for her when she was ill.
There were two plots going on. One with Sarah Corvis and one with Jaime guarding the teen girl. I'm not to sure about the snotty, brat teen. She was kind of a cliche. I really enjoyed the Sarah plot. Sarah is so unpredictable and it makes her an interesting character. A lesser actress wouldn't be able to pull it off.
One big improvement over the pilot is many viewers believed Katee upstaged Michelle. There is some truth to that. Now Michelle is able to hold her own with Katee. Michelle is getting better in this role and now is at the leading lady level. She doesn't come across as he lesser actor in the series. She works as well as Miguel, Molly and Katee does. She's also excellent in the action scenes.
The martial arts sequences are getting better.
I like the humor. It's working really well. Some of the lines were really clever. I like the joke about Hillary and Jonus tricking a lie detector, Sarah reading a magazine during the fight. Ruth smiling at the girl. There should be some fun in it.
I liked the themes about the two Bionic women feeling used and objectified by the Berkut group. That is a theme only touched upon in the old series and I hoped it would be dealt with more in the new series. I also hoped they would touch on themes of what is means to be human as opposed to be a machine. Sarah is struggling with that and it's interesting.
The girl Jaime was looking after was a bit of a cliche but the rest of the episode was very good. I give it a four. I hope this series is around for a while. NBC please don't cancel this and replace it with a reality show or crime drama.
Next weeks' episode looks good. I think they've been teasing us with clips of what is going to be next week's episode. What is Pope's agenda?
Just an observation. There was an episode of La Femme Nikita when Nikita found out there were cameras in her apartment and she ripped them out and told Operations to stop spying on her.
I think Jaime needs a Fembot to spar with for her training. _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |

I remembered something after watching it I forgot to post last night. Why was Becca using a computer in front of Jaime when she isn't supposed to have one? _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |

Great episode, I agree with Judd, definitely a 4. Alot better on the humour, some really nice lines from everyone. I loved the way Jaime turned the tracker back on when Sarah was in her apartment, nice touch. She may not trust Jonas but at least she knows she can count on him to come running where Sarah is concerned.
I'm really enjoying the sparring sequences and Jae and Jaime working together. I can see the time when Jaime will be whipping his ass! Atonio definitely has an agenda, otherwise why would he be goading Jaime's animal instincts.
The salon sequence was fun, although I expected more of a reaction from Jaime when Sarah shot the bad guy [did she kill him?], although I think it was totally in character for Sarah.
Agree with Judd, Becca using a computer and Jaime not saying anything is just wrong, considering the ufss she made checking her room the other week.
I think I enjoyed this week's episode because I avoided any of the clips, bar the trailer. Was more of a surprise not knowing what was going to happen. Haven;t seen the trailer yet for next week... anyone want to comment? _________________ Better, stronger, faster.... |
