Rate the eighth episode Do Not Disturb. Please wait until after the show to vote or comment.
I really hope this isn't the final episode of the series. Chuck and Life have been given full season orders by NBC. Bionic Woman did better in the ratings than Life so I hope they'll renew it. There are some issues with the show but let's hope they'll renew with a new creative team and give it a chance. It's such a great idea, it's well cast and produced and I think there is more to tell with this story and characters.
Let's see what we think of this episode and we won't rip anyones head off if you like or dislike it.. _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |

I really enjoyed this episode and thought it was much better than many of the other episodes. I hope they don't cancel this series just when it's finding its feet.
The interaction between the characters seemed much more natural. I also loved the humorous touches. I was almost in tears with Ruth's deadpan humor. I love Ruth's sense of humor. The plot was very tight. I didn't notice any odd ball out of the blue moments like we've seen before. I thought the stunt at the beginning was great when she chased the motorcycle.
I getting finally a sense of style, tone and direction. There was a lot of suspense and plot twists and turns and we did have a pay off. I like having Jaime making ethical decisions in the field. We get the idea of the epsionage business being dangerous and dirty. And I think they've established how Burkut works.
I'm probably overating it but I just get the sense they've finally nailed down what this series is about. This episode seemed much smoother than other episodes. The acting
seemed more natural also. I thought Michelle was great.
I really hope this isn't the end. I thought this was a huge improvement and a positive step in the right direction.
Just my thoughts. I'm anxious to hear what others think. _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |

I agree with all of the above. It wasn't a classic television episode, but it was much more consistent than most of what we've seen before.
I only really have two major problems now with the show:
1) the contained episode format whilst not affecting my overall enjoyment is preventing me from being fully immersed in the show.
2) The should I tell her/shouldn't I tell her sub plot between Becca and Jamie. The show can be dark and moody without resorting to making Jamie all conflicted and moping around. Let the girl have some light in her life. Even her relationship with Tom is blighted by doubt. Michelle Ryan spent five years portraying a sulky teenager on Eastenders, so give her a break.
Despite these problems things are certainly moving in the right direction and I hope we get to see more. _________________

I'm optimistic after reading the above and look forward to watching the episode tonight or tomorrow - maybe there is hope for our Bionic heroine yet! _________________ Better, stronger, faster.... |

Well, for what may have been the last episode, it was pretty good. Again Judd has summed things up nicely, and it did feel like the show had finally found a style, pace and direction which it could settle into.
Becca continues to grow on me [never thought I’d say that] and the whole episode was bitter-sweet in that all the way through it just as I was getting comfortable with the characters I was thinking that this might be the last time I saw them. They started to put some background on Nathan, but still struggled to give Jae anything to do other than spar with people. Jonas faired best with some great scenes and we saw a very ruthless, but necessary, side to his character.
With the loss of Antonio, Jonas seems an ideal replacement as an experienced operative/mentor for her, although I don’t think they could be teaming them up in the field every week, as it wouldn’t be practical. Jonas has mellowed in his attitude to Jaime and now very much plays the father-figure in her life and I much prefer seeing the pair on-screen together than Jaime and Tom [a forced and wasted relationship if ever I saw one].
We definitely got our fair share of Bionic action this week although I would have preferred a less public place for a display of Bionics. Jaime also has a handle on both overt and covert use of her Bionics now, which is a good progression of her familiarity with her strength/powers.
On the downside the story was a little contrived, but worked at the time. I know they are working thru developing Jaime trusting/sharing with Becca, but it would have been interesting to see them discuss the Antonio. The end was almost prophetic, with the Jaime and Becca driving off into the distance….
Overall, though, definitely the most solid episode to date! _________________ Better, stronger, faster.... |
