|
| Does anyone know what the opening titles are going to be like? I loved the original Bionic Woman title sequence, and although I know they won't use the original music, or even a version of it, I'm kinda hoping they're not going for another boring Lost/Heroes no-titles thing which seems to be quite popular at the moment... |

Personally I'm in two minds about this.
On the one hand a really good title sequence can be an asset and make a bold statement about the show you are about to watch. I mean some epsiodes of Star Trek Voyager the opening titles were the only part worth watching
On the other hand, no offence but US shows seem to get shorter and shorter every season as the networks squeeze more and more adverts into the hour,
that time might be better devoted to telling the story. I mean i watch Heroes and I'm barely aware it doesn't have a proper title sequence i'm enjoying the story so much.
I think I'd quite like a quick 10-30 second sequence ala Torchwood or Scrubs, something distinctive and memorable but which doesn't hog too much screen time _________________ www.wantagecinema.com

Personally I'd love an iconic opening sequence, but I fear we may well get a LOST-style opening credits, as you've said these shorter titles seem 'popular' at the moment.
In this day and age of multi-channel, shorter attention spans, and DVD releases I guess people just skip the title sequences anyway, or change channels. Getting staright down to the story at least keeps the casual viewer engaged.
However, in line with the original show they MIGHT gives us a long intro and set the tone for the show. Certainly BATTLESTAR has a substantial, more traditional, set of opening credits and it is from essentially the same guys.... fingers crossed! _________________ Better, stronger, faster.... |
