I have come up with some guidelines for the forum. As of now these are just guidelines and I encourage everyone to comment. We have a small number of posters but I suspect the number will increase once the show aires. Some of these guidelines come from experience using other forums.
No Spam. If you're a spammer go someplace else. We don't like Spam here.
No hate speech. No ethic, sexist, racial, religious slurs or homophobic remarks.
We respect the privacy of the actors and staff. It's not our business to know where they are living, where they go or their contact information or contact information of their relatives.
No personal attacks or name calling of other posters or staff/actors of the Bionic Woman series.
No profanity or sexually graphic posts.
(Some TV and movie fan sites like to engage in low brow humor and that's fine if they wish to do that. I don't think it's appropiate here because when I was a child I used to watch The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. I know the new show is geared toward an older audience but we may still have younger fans who would like to use this site and they should be able to.)
No forum wars. We won't engage in wars with other sites. If you want to reply to something on another forum that's fine but you're on your own.
Do not put posts on this forum from other sites without permission. If another site asks to keep some information on their site private then don't post it here.
If someone posts something on this site and asks it not be posted elsewhere then don't post it elsewhere.
Don't attack a poster for bad spelling or typos. We all make mistakes especially if we are in a hurry. You can ask for somone to explain what they mean if you can't decode the post but be civil.
Don't complain about policies on other forums. If you want to discuss what's happening on another forum keep the name of the forum to yourself.
Discuss mature subject matter in a mature way. If the new series contains some mature themes, it's open to discussion but don't go into graphic details about it.
Keep spoilers in the spoiler section. If you see filming of Michelle being chased by an actor in a bigfoot costume post it in the spoiler section, which is called OSI Headquarters. The contents of an episode are open to discussion after it has aired on NBC.
Before posting look to see if there is a thread appropiate to the post.
We're not interested in behind the scenes gossip. We respect the privacy of those who work on the show. We don't need to know about the details of their personal relationships. We don't need to know about any behind the scenes disputes unless if they are made public by the actors or NBC. If an actor has a dispute with a director on set, we don't need to discuss it.
If you meet an actor from the series please be nice. Don't scream or yell. Don't touch them. Don't take a picture without permission. Don't bother them if they are in the restroom or eating. Be aware that these people have bad days too and may not feel like talking to a fan.
I also believe we should respect the copywrite of NBC and Universal. We want to be on good terms with them. This is an aera which needs to be discussed in more depth later.
These are just guidelines. I would like the input from all of you. Is there anything you would like to add or any questions you have? As the site grows I think it would be helpful to have some guidlines for the forum.
Thank you. _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |

I would like to state for the record I am a real person. I'm not a fictional character. Moxx knows me from Outpost Gallifrey. I've been a member of that site for 2 years now.
I mention this because I belonged to a forum where one of the moderators wasn't a real person and that led to a bunch of problems. _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |

It was a long story Alex but here's the short version. I belonged to a science fiction forum. One of the posters was an older woman. She talked about taking her boys to a science fiction convention when they were younger and she still enjoyed the genre. She was promoted to be a moderator. Some friends of hers started a forum in her name which I never joined. One day she got upset over something and left the forum she was a moderator on.
It turns out she was never real. She was a character that a person or several persons created as a joke. The one's in on the joke didn't believe we actually believed that this woman was for real. I know a woman who's a grandmother who watches Stargate and Doctor Who.
We had some fun with this on Outpost Gallifrey when I asked if the Moderators there were real people. Yes they are real. They've met each other in person and had pictures to prove it.
And yes I am a real person too. _________________ You are a facinating blend of beauty and truely remarkable strength. |
