What do you think will happen with the show? My hope is it will be relaunched on Sci-Fi after the strike. The ratings are high enough to be a success on Sci-Fi. It would do much better than Flash Gordon or Painkiller Jane.

Something went wrong along the way. The series premiered well and had good ratings for three episodes before they fell so far. There is an audience for Bionic Woman it's just the direction the show went in didn't catch on for some reason.

I don't know if it wasn't flashy enough for modern viewers. As the tone and style changed as the series went along the series lost viewers. The show started being grim and dark with some touches of humor and then the show became much lighter with an emphasis on Jaime's love life and relationship with her sister.

I'm scratching my head as to why it didn't click with viewers when it started off so well. Michelle was on the cover of TV Guide twice. Female action hero shows have proven popular in the past. The supporting cast actors were well known and liked. Each of the characters were unique. They never had a really bad episode. Many shows even ones I like such as Doctor Who have had clunker episodes and I didn't think Bionic Woman had any clunker episodes. The pilot could have been fleshed out better.

I really wish I could find out what the plans were for the relaunch. Maybe they have some great plan to overhaul the series. There is an audience for it and it is fixable.

It's a shame because if this show fails, we won't see any Sci-Fi on American network TV for many years.

What do you think?

I've been looking over the comments at the NBC message boards. I'm not a member. These people are not bashers. They are saying over and over again that they really enjoyed the early episodes of the series with Sarah Corvis. They enjoyed the character and the storyline. They feel the show went south after Sarah left and Jaime met Tom. Many lost interest in the show when they started the Tom storyline.

Many didn't like the soft, romantic Jaime. If that's the case then that is very fixable. Get rid of Tom and have Jaime single for a while.

I understand why they choose Katee and she was really good in the part. The problem is they couldn't use her as a regular since she's working on Battlestar.

I think the overall consensus is that people don't like the Jaime/Tom romance and the lighter, though inconsistent, tone is not drawing people in. The dark, gritty 're-imagining' was a big draw, especially as it was in contrast to the original series.

We seem to have completely gone away from the covert black-ops-style Berkut group who and Jaime now just seems like another agent, albeit a stronger. faster, one. We don't have any dark shows on TV at the moment in the new season, most stuff such as 'Daisies', Chuck', and 'Journeyman' is in a similar vein. BW could have carved out it;s own niche, but it looks like the higher-ups were not happy to go out on a limb with the show.

It would be nice to hope the show will get moved to Sci-Fi and made-over, but with Eick/Morgan no longer steering things, surely we couldn't hope for that much of a make-over that will take it very far from where it is now. The ratings have yet to stabalise and I am not sure I would be moving a project without knowing I at least have a core audience - at the minute this is dropping away week-on-week.

Without knowing more details of the re-launch, it is impossible to predict what affect it would.will have. But again, unless we are going back to the drawing board - which is doubtful - it will more than likely just be sticking a finger in a leaking dyke: you might get some results short term, but in the long run the result is going to be the same.

There's an article on ain't it cool news which says unless the ratings go up for Journeyman in the next two weeks, it will be cancelled. NBC does plan on airing Life in Journeyman's time slot for a few weeks.

Deal or no Deal should lead in for Bionic Woman for the next episode. Maybe it will help the show. The ratings took a nose dive when they brought in the Tom storyline and when Phenomenon was the lead in show.

I don't know what NBC will do with Bionic Woman but it looks like Journeyman is in more trouble than Bionic Woman or Life is.

I just saw the Aint-It-Cool item and came straight here...

I would like to hope that NBC wouldn't be looking to cancel 2 of their new shows, so if 'Journeyman' is going to get the chop it might bode well for BW as they will be one new show down and may decide to give BW a bit of breathing space.

If NBC were so quick to change Mae/Becca due to public reaction, maybe they will do the same for the Jaime/Tom storyline? Anyone want to bet that maybe the storyline for the 2-parter is very Bionic/Sarah Corvus-heavy?
